However, the Indian State Bank (SBI) will already stop using such a checkbook. Now SBI customers will not be able to use the check book older than December 12. SBI has also begun sending messages to consumers to surrender the check book and present a new checkbook. RBI mandated banks about 3 months ago to stop using the non-CTS check book from January 1, 2019. RBI is going to close the check of the bank completely in compliance with the instructions.

Apart from SBI, other banks including Punjab National Bank (PNB) have also announced the date for the use of the old checkbook by 31 December. The bank says that on January 1, 2019, customers can use CTS check. Customers using old checks will soon apply for a new check book. Because the old check book will be completely unemployed from the new year.

Older ATM Card:
If you have an ATM card with an old magnetic strip introduced by the bank then it will be completely blocked from January 1. From January 1, only ATM cards can be used for EMV chip. However, SBIS had completely stopped using the old debit card from November 28.

Government, Semi-Government And Retired Government Employees Will Pay Salarie.

The government has taken a decision to quickly pay the government employees to the seventh pay commission. Government employees, retired employees and semi government employees also get the benefits of the seventh pay commission. As such, their pay is increased by 17%.

The news of the joy for these employees is that this increase will be given from 2016 to January 1, 2016. Arrears of this salary will be given in February 2019. The government's decision is that 25 lakh employees will be benefited. However, this report has been sent to the government for approval. It will be implemented after approval of cabinet.
The special reason for not getting special permission will be given by the government. It is to note that the government's treasury is not burdened with excessive burden and the interest of the employees is taken care of. As a result, the government's development works have not been affected by the Zaji effect, it has been clarified in the report.
The state government-semi-official and retired employee who has been looking at the government for the last one year is happy news. The Bakshi Committee submitted the report to the employees for the seventh wage tribunal submitted to the state government on Wednesday.

In the report presented by Bakshi Committee, an additional recommendation of 17% has been made to the employees. This increase will be effective from January 1, 2016. Employees will receive 25 lakh employees and retired employees. In February 2019, the wage increases staff.

The seventh wage commission has been implemented from 1st January, 2016 to the Central Government employees. The state government officials and staff association demanded that the recommendation of the Commission be applied to state government-semi-official and retired employees from the same date. Accordingly, the state government will be burdened with the seventh wage commission on the state, to study whether the former IPS officer P. Under the chairmanship of Baki, the Wage Improvement Study Committee was established. Various employee organizations presented their demands before the committee. The Bakshi committee has submitted its report and submitted it to the government.

This report provides detailed information on employees' salary, allowances. In the second phase of the report, the committee will submit its report in three months regarding the administrative reforms and the dispute in some wages category of employees. If the report of the committee has been received by the government, it will be kept against the cabinet. After the approval of the cabinet, the implementation of the report will start. The increase will be given in the wages deposited in the month of January, a senior official said. If the report is implemented, the expenditure on the government treasury will increase by 14-15% and the total burden will be 16 thousand crores. Currently, 90 to 92 crores are spent.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan , English: Education for All Movement), or SSA, is an Indian Government programme aimed at the universalisation of elementary education “in a time bound manner”, as mandated by the 86th Amendment to the Constitution of India making free and compulsory education to children between the ages of 6 to 14 (estimated to be 205 million children in 2001) a fundamental right. The programme was pioneered by former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

As an intervention programme, it started on 2002 and SSA has been operational since 2000-2001. However, its roots go back to 1993-1994, when the District Primary Education Programme (DPEP) was launched, with an aim of achieving the objective of universal primary education. DPEP, over several phases, covered 272 districts in 18 states of the country.


The expenditure on the programme was shared by the Central Government (85%) and the State Governments. The Central share was funded by a number of external agencies, including the World Bank, Department for International Development (DFID) and UNICEF. By 2001, more than $1500 million had been committed to the programme, and 50 million children covered in its ambit. In an impact assessment of Phase I of DPEP, the authors concluded that its net impact on minority children was impressive, while there was little evidence of any impact on the enrolment of girls. Nevertheless, they concluded that the investment in DPEP was not a waste, because it introduced a new approach to primary school interventions in India.

For enhanced participation of electors in the electoral process and reducing the electoral malpractices, it is essential to improve the quality of electoral registration process and of the electoral rolls. Booth Level Officer (BLO) is a local Government/Semi-Government official, familiar with the local electors and generally a voter in the same polling area who assists in updating the roll using his local knowledge. In fact, BLO is a representative of Election Commission of India (ECI) at the grass-root level who plays a pivotal role in the process of roll revision and collecting actual field information with regard to the roll corresponding to the polling area assigned to him.

Under Section 13B (2) of Representation of People Act, 1950, BLOs are appointed from amongst the officers of the Govt. /Semi Govt. /Local Bodies. Generally, one BLO is responsible for one part of the electoral roll. From August, 2006 the Commission has decided to introduce the concept of appointing BLOs who would be accountable for ensuring the fidelity of electoral roll.+

The ECI introduced this new system of appointing BLOs creating a clear line of accountability for preparation of an error-free electoral roll, making the BLOs its custodian at the polling booth level. Previously, voter-identification slips used to be distributed by the contesting candidates of various political parties and that gave scope for complaints. The preparation of accurate electoral rolls and direct distribution of voter identification slip by the BLOs also boosted voter confidence in the credibility of the election process.

BLO assists eligible citizens to become voters and obtain voter card. BLO provides those different forms for addition, deletion and correction of Electoral Roll entries, carries out physical verification, and gives his/her report to Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) .The BLO interacts with local people/ political parties’ representatives and identifies dead/shifted/duplicate voters to be removed from the electoral roll after due process of law.
